The YiLian Medical's low-temperature plasma surgical electrode operates by utilizing a high-frequency electric field. When the device is powered on, the composite ceramic coating provides strong insulation, causing electric charges to concentrate at the blade edge. This leads to a tip discharge effect, generating a localized and intense electric field at the blade tip.
This electric field ionizes the molecules in the surrounding tissue, creating a plasma state composed of high-energy ions and electrons. These ions move at high speeds and deliver energy precisely to the target tissue, breaking molecular bonds and achieving tissue dissection-without relying on high temperatures.
Because the energy is primarily used to ionize tissue molecules rather than heating them, the cutting temperature remains below 70°C, which is much lower than the approximately 200°C required by traditional electrosurgical pencils.
